    • 1). Park the KIA Sedona on a level surface and in a well-ventilated area so that the gas fumes can escape. Pull the hood release and open the hood.

    • 2). Go to the rear of the car and remove the gas cap. This will prevent the fuel lines from spraying gas everywhere when removing the fuel lines from the fuel filter.

    • 3). Look on the driver-side fender firewall and you will see a round, black canister with a fuel line coming out of the bottom and a fuel line coming out of the top. This is the fuel filter. Place the small catch container under the car near the fuel filter to catch any excess gas from the fuel filter.

    • 4). Put the 5/8-inch open-end wrench onto the fuel line nut on the bottom of the fuel filter. Then, put the 19 mm open-end wrench around the fuel line nut on the top of the fuel filter. Turn the bottom fuel line nut counterclockwise while holding the top fuel line with the 19 mm open-end wrench. Once the bottom fuel line loosens, unscrew it from the bottom of the fuel line with your fingers.

    • 5). Put the 5/8-inch open-end wrench onto the 5/8-inch nut that is built onto the bottom of the fuel filter. Then, turn the top fuel line with the 19 mm open-end wrench until it loosens. Finish removing the top fuel line with your fingers. Slide the fuel filter from the bracket.

    • 6). Insert the new fuel filter into the bracket and screw the bottom fuel line onto the bottom of the fuel filter. Then, screw the top fuel line onto the top of the fuel filter. Put the 5/8-inch open-end wrench on the bottom fuel line nut and the 19 mm open-end wrench on the top fuel line nut.

    • 7). Turn the top fuel line nut clockwise while holding the bottom nut. This will tighten both fuel lines. Make sure fuel lines are very tight.

    • 8). Screw the cap on the gas tank. Prime the fuel filter by turning the ignition on and off four times. Then, crank the motor and inspect the fuel filter with the motor running. Turn the motor off and shut the hood. Remove the catch container out from under the car.
